Our audiologists participate in hearing loss prevention programs with local industry. Our services include baseline and annual hearing screening and annual educational training for employees exposed to high levels of occupational noise. These are two components of hearing conservation programs mandated for employers by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Noisy PlanetThe National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) sponsors It’s a Noisy Planet. Protect Their Hearing. This national public education campaign is designed to increase awareness among parents of children ages 8 to 12 about the causes and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). With this information, parents and other adults can encourage children to adopt healthy hearing habits before and during the time that they develop listening, leisure, and working habits.

Listen to Your BudsListen to Your Buds is a consumer awareness campaign by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association about the potential risk of hearing loss from unsafe usage of personal audio technology. The Listen to Your Buds Web site features fun, free downloadable items featuring the Buds. The site includes resources for parents and teachers like bookmarks and posters, as well as animated e-cards and the Turn Down the Volume game.
