If I am home alone, why should I bother using my hearing aids?

We recommend you wear your hearing devices throughout the whole day, even if you are home alone in a quiet house. Full-time use provides your brain with consistent sound, which will contribute to your understanding of speech in a variety of listening situations.

If you only use your devices in social situations, which tend to be in noisy places, your brain may have a hard time adjusting to the background noise, since there is such a contrast from the “quiet” of your hearing loss to the “noisiness” of the “real world”. The result? You must work harder to follow conversation in the settings where you need help the most! Get the most from your investment. Use your hearing instruments every day.

Here’s an interesting thought: Do you not use your eyeglasses because you are home alone? Stay connected with the world through vision AND hearing!
